At Sparkminds, we do things differently.
Ever since our formation, back in 2009, we have been determined to live, and work, to a different rhythm. A rhythm that doesn’t prioritse agency profit, over the well-being of our team. And a rhythm that doesn’t chase commercial goals, with scant regard for our impact on the world outside our door.
Back at the start, we set out pillars to our way of working, that became ingrained in our agency culture, and subsequently triggered our B-Corp accreditation.

It’s the question that is asked of ourselves, every time we pull together the outputs for a project. “Are we proud of this work?”
If the answer is anything other than a resounding ‘yes!’ the process is simple. Revisit, rework and review.
This obsessive approach to quality control is apparent across everything we do; from initial design to output creation, and ensuring findings and recommendations inspire our clients to act.

As an agency, we focus on looking out of the window rather than in the mirror. How can we be better? How can we ensure we do good for all of our stakeholders, and local community. And how can we minimise our impact on the planet, working in an industry that is notoriously materialistic and consumption focused?
Regular engagement with, and contributions & donations to local community projects, as well as pro-bono work, enable us to help those close to us. Our carbon-reduction plan is published, and our commitment to charitable work sees frequent adhoc donations beyond our more formal ‘charity of the year’ initiative.

A B-Corp business, all along.
Having run our agency by these principles for over a decade, when we heard of the B-Corp movement, it seemed both a natural, and logical fit.
Minimal changes were required, to our agency way of working and organisational culture, ahead of us submitting our accreditation.
We achieved certification at the first attempt, achieving a verified impact score of 87.4.
This will always be a journey rather than a destination, however, as we constantly look to push the boundaries of ensuring we focus our time looking out of the window, rather than in the mirror.
